Diana has been so active lately that we haven’t gotten many new pictures, so we’ve included a few oldies but goodies for this post, including one from a year ago so you can see how much she’s grown. Well, maybe she hasn’t grown that much… She’s still super tiny for her age, and has been hovering around 20 lbs. (5th percentile-ish) for the past few months. But she’s talking and eating a lot, so we’re trying not to worry about her little size. We all had a wonderful time at a Cinco de Mayo dinner at the club, and Diana particularly liked the beef tenderloin and corn chips. She’s also started to enjoy peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and carrot sticks. While she’s still using mostly single words, she does have a few phrases that she uses (e.g. “hold it,” “thank you”), and is starting to experiment more with putting multiple words together. She’s also speaking a lot of Bahasa Indonesia, thanks to our nanny and the Indonesian kids that she plays with at the park. She doesn’t say as many phrases in Indonesian, but she actually knows her numbers better than in English.
The next month here in Tembagapura will have some fun end-of-the-school-year activities for us, but I think both of us are looking forward to June when we get to have a little vacation and time back in the US. It feels like a long time since we were there, and amazing to think that Diana will turn two this summer. Em and “Kedua” are doing fine, and Diana can say “sister” and point to Em’s growing belly. She loves playing with her baby dolls and feeding them and taking them to the potty, so hopefully she will handle the transition to being a big sister well.
